Increases in municipal liability costs in QW for 2025

Quinte West will see increases in municipal insurance costs in 2025. Council voted to approve a staff recommendation to approve an insurance agreement with broker BFL Canada at its meeting on Wednesday. This will result in a jump of almost six-per cent in insurance rates from 1.68 million in 2024 to $1.78 million this year. That is lower than the 12.6-per cent increase from 2023 to 2024. Deductibles will be hiked to $250,000 from $100,000 in 2024. Coun.
