PEC OPP encouraging ice safety

Members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) want to remind you to use extreme caution when heading out onto a frozen lake or river and how to be safe if you do. While the ice may look tempting for winter activities, please do not trust the ice. Temperature changes or a fresh snowfall can contribute to concealing thin ice.
