UPDATE - St Catharines man injured in motorcycle crash on 401

A man from St. Catharines was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash that closed down the 401 around Brighton on Sunday for several hours. Sunday afternoon around 3:30, officers with Northumberland OPP, Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a report of a serious single vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist. The motorcycle left the roadway, struck the central barrier and ejected the rider. A 35-year-old male from St. Catharines, was transported by ORNGE Air to a trauma centre in Toronto for the treatment of injuries that are described as serious.
