City of Quinte West opens cooling centre

The City of Quinte West is opening its cooling centre in response to the hot and humid forecast this week. The centre will be open until 5:00 p.m. on Monday and will be open every day from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. through Sunday at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Community Gardens in Trenton. The city activates its cooling centre when there are two straight days of high temperatures of 31 degrees or higher or humidex values of 35 degrees Celsius or highter. Splash pads in Trenton and Frankford are also open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for everyone...
