UPDATE - Gas leak causes evacuation in downtown Picton

Part of downtown Picton was evacuated through the mid-day on Tuesday following a natural gas leak. At 11:06am, Firefighters from Station 1 responded to a natural gas leak at 251 Main Street in Picton. Firefighters evacuated the area and assessed buildings to ensure the safety of the public.   A natural gas supply line was damaged during excavation work that was being performed at the rear side of a commercial building. Enbridge Gas Utility attended the scene and stopped the gas leak at 12:20 pm. The affected area was reopened to the public at 12:44 pm.  Fire personnel cleared the scene...
