Yesterday, countless Greater Toronto Area (GTA) parents hugged their children a little tighter, after news broke that a six-year-old Kleinberg resident had been struck and killed by a school bus in the morning. Kleinberg is located about a half-hour drive from Toronto. While the tragedy is unspeakably devastating, countless coworkers, friends, and strangers have stepped up to support the grieving family, thanks to a GoFundMe page started by Re/Max Premier. The little boy’s grandmother works at the brokerage. At the time of publication, the fundraiser had raised a heartwarming $122,194 for the family – a figure that's rapidly climbing. “It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of the loss of our coworker’s grandson Matteo Caputi,” reads the GoFundMe page. “Matteo lost his life in a tragic accident at the age of 6. Matteo will always be remembered as a happy little boy who lit up the lives of everyone who was lucky enough to have known him. He was a cherished son, brother, grandson and nephew. He loved country music and loved playing the drums. He adored his little brother Luca very much.”It goes on to express the brokerage’s desire to alleviate some stress from the family and show their support and asked others to do the same: “In the wake of this tragedy, as the family now has to endure this unimaginable pain, we at Re/Max Premier Inc, would like to show support to the family in any way we can. We are reaching out to our community of friends and family to show their support. Any contribution, no matter the amount will help this family during this difficult time.Thank you for your support, thoughts and prayers. Together we can help this family through this unimaginable loss.Luisa, we are thinking of you and your family during this heart breaking time. With love your family at Re/Max Premier Inc., Brokerage,” it reads.
