County Road 40 in QW blocked by fallen tree

There were some scary moments as the storm swept through the Quinte Region on Thursday night, including one incident where a tree came down on top of a car on a road in Quinte West. Quinte West Fire, OPP and Hastings Quinte Paramedics responded to County Road 40 around 10:30 pm between Nichols and Teal. A tree came down on top of a car and completely blocked the road. A 22-year-old female was extricated from the vehicle. She was shaken up but otherwise uninjured. Public works was called in to remove the tree, which was expected to take a couple of hours. ...
