New hybrid buses to be added to Belleville’s fleet

A fleet of new hybrid buses will soon be ready to roll in Belleville. Council approved the purchase of  three Hybrid Transit Buses from New Flyer Industries Canada for $4 million at its meeting on Monday. A staff report by Joe Reid, Director of Transportation and Operations stated the city received $5 million through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program’s Public Transit Infrastructure Stream for four  hybrid buses and one mobility bus.   One of the four hybrid buses has already been purchased and was put into service earlier this year.
