New Quinte Exhibition building contract up for council approval

Development of the new Quinte Exhibition site off Black Diamond Road could be advanced with council approval. At its meeting Monday afternoon, the group is being asked to accept an RFP submission from Bel-Con Design Builders Limited for a design-build contract for a 36,400 sq ft. building to be used at the fairgrounds. The contract is in the amount of $11.8 million and city staff say it was deemed the most qualified proposal out of four received. Upon approval, staff is also recommending council rubber-stamp $850,000 in funding through tax-funded long-term debt for the new exhibition and education facility. Council meets at 4...
