Ontario making changes to child-care funding for providers

The province of Ontario is making changes to the way child-care providers are compensated under the national 10-dollars-a-day program. Education Minister (and Bay of Quinte MPP) Todd Smith made the announcement on Thursday, saying that this will better cover the true cost of providing care. Many operators had said they were struggling financially under the old funding formula, as it fell short in a number of areas. Smith says "this will provide stability and certainty for the providers already in service and opportunities for those who want to get started in this area.
