Investigators expand probe into fatal fire in Napanee

Police investigating a fatal fire and homicide in Napanee have expanded the timeframe of the incident and the area where video is being sought. Andrew James Thompson, 31 of Picton is facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder and arson in connection with a residential fire on John Street on August 3, 2024, just before 8:15 p.m.  Walter Lasher, 67 of Napanee died as a result of the fire. Investigators are asking anyone living in the area bordered by Dundas Street West to Water Street West, and Centre Street to Richard Street in Napanee to check for and submit any video captured...
