Northumberland OPP offer back to school safety tips

Northumberland OPP will be increasing their presence in school areas as students return to school next week.   Beginning Tuesday September 3, 2024, many students will be returning to school in our area, police said in a release. Communities should expect an increase in foot traffic, bicycle traffic and vehicles during pick-up and drop-off times at all the schools in the county. Police are asking motorists to be patient and to plan ahead to account for possible delays as for some young students, this will be their first school year adjusting to walking and crossing streets.
