Contraband and unauthorized items seized at Warkworth Institution

On September 1, 2024, as a result of the vigilance of staff members, a package containing contraband and unauthorized items was seized at Warkworth Institution, a medium security federal institution. The contraband and unauthorized items seized included marijuana, tobacco and edged weapons. The total estimated institutional value of this seizure is $78,150. This seizure was the result of a suspected drone drop. The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) uses a number of tools to prevent drugs from entering its institutions.
