Belleville going for second chance housing fund application

The City of Belleville is giving it another shot when it comes to achieving funding to expand its housing supply in Round 2 of the national Housing Accelerator Fund. A report on Monday asked that Council commit to implementing four units as-of-right on a parcel of urban residential land where a detached dwelling, semi-detached dwelling, or freehold townhouse dwelling is permitted. Staff is recommending council approve an application for $16.8 million which is expected to translate to an extra 460 housing units over three years.
