DOG ATTACK – City confirms capture of three dangerous dogs ‘for public safety’

Community services manager Will Beatty today (Sept. 9, 2024) confirmed the capture of three dangerous dogs by community service officers on the weekend. Beatty said the action was taken in response to “serious concerns for public safety.” While he provided no details, it’s been widely reported that three pit bulls attacked and killed a 12-year-old border collie in its Richmond Avenue yard early Sunday morning. “Our primary goal in such situations is to ensure the protection of our community and to address potential risks promptly and effectively,” Beatty stated. “We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family that lost their beloved dog yesterday. This incident is a somber reminder of the profound impact such situations can have on families and their cherished pets”.
