Barbara Whelan remembered for contributions to Quinte arts community

A well-known local painter is remembered for her long-standing contributions to the Quinte arts community. Barbara Whelan died peacefully at Hospice Quinte on Sept. 9 at the age of 96. "Barbara’s life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and love," the Quinte Arts Council wrote in a tribute to Whelan.  "She touched the hearts of many with her warm smile and generous spirit. Her dedication to her family and community was unwavering, and she leaves behind a legacy of compassion and strength." She married John Whelan and were together 75 years before his death.  She is survived by their three children...
