A new face was welcomed by members of the federal caucus to help address key economic areas, and according to minister of finance and deputy prime minister Chrystia Freeland this will help provide needed insight. Mark Carney was officially welcomed to the role today {Tuesday}, in Nanaimo, by prime minister Justin Trudeau and the federal liberals, and Freeland says Canadians shouldn’t read into the appointment. “He is a highly respected Canadian leader,” she says. “It is a really good thing for our party, and Canada, that we’re able to talk more, and get advice.” Although Freeland says she is predicting a positive economic forecast for next year having the input, and support of Carney should be reassuring to everyone across the country as Canada faces an affordability crisis.
