ELECTION ’24 – Milobar to run for BC Conservatives in Kamloops Centre

BC United MLA Peter Milobar is now a BC Conservative candidate. Milobar had intended to run for BC United in the new Kamloops Centre riding on Oct. 19 but announced today (Sept. 3, 2024) he’ll run in that riding for the Conservatives. The decision comes after Kevin Falcon withdrew BC United from the election campaign last week and threw his personal support behind BC Conservative leader John Rustad. The Kamloops Centre candidate for the Conservatives was officially Dennis Giesbrecht who now must step aside in favour of Milobar. Milobar made his announcement at a news conference on McArthur Island. Rustad welcomed him as the party’s candidate in Kamloops Centre, along with a couple of other candidates. Milobar issued a call for unity and strong leadership to challenge the incumbent NDP government. “British Columbians deserve a government that listens and acts in their best interests,” he said. “I am joining the Conservative Party of BC to ensure that our communities are heard, and that we stand together against the NDP’s harmful policies.
