Hamlet areas now included in Belleville Traffic Calming Policy

The scope of Belleville’s Traffic Calming Policy is growing larger with the inclusion of Hamlet Areas. An amendment recommended by the city’s Transportation Committee was approved by council earlier this week. Hamlet areas are defined under the city’s Official Plan as locations where limited urban growth outside of the urban serviced area, generally on private and/or communal services, will be encouraged. These are generally residential, but a variety of commercial, industrial, community facility and recreational/open spaces can be found in these hamlet areas. The locations outlined in the amendment include Foxboro, Point Anne, Plainfield, Latta, Halloway, and Roslin....
