A large stash of drugs has been seized by Campbell River RCMP as part of a drug trafficking investigation. Police say on September 6, members of the Street Crime, Major Crime, and Community Response units executed a search warrant on a location at the 9000 block of Island Highway South, where a large stash of drugs was located. During the search, they seized over 100 grams of fentanyl, over 70 grams of powder cocaine, over 40 grams of crack cocaine, and a significant amount of Dilaudid. Along with the drugs, police seized a large sum of cash, firearms, replica handguns, a prohibited conducted energy weapon, a switchblade, and other weapons. As part of the seizure, a 39-year-old man and 40-year-old woman were arrested on scene. They have been released with a future court date, with police to forward a report to Crown Counsel to consider Criminal and Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
