Incidents around crosswalks in Brighton prompt OPP safety advisory

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are reminding motorists to heed pedestrian crosswalks and crossovers. Police have been made aware of several complaints from residents in Brighton, where motorists are alleged to have driven through crosswalks while pedestrians are attempting to cross while the lights are activated. OPP would like to take this opportunity to advise that when in use, crosswalk and crossover users, including those in wheelchairs have priority. Motorists have displayed impatience and do not wait until the intersection or walkway is clear. A crosswalk is a crossing location usually found at intersections with traffic...
