Nine new paramedic contract positions to be created in Hastings-Quinte

Community Paramedic positions are set to grow in Hastings County. A report from the Emergency Services Committee on Thursday asked County Council to approve the creation of up to nine full-time community paramedic positions with one supervisory position with long-term care funding from the province. That would come from the Ministry of Health of Long-Term Care ($1.8 million annually) and from the Ministry of Health ($259,950 annually). The recommendation recognizes that this is in alignment with recent efforts to reduce reliance on part-time hours to maintain service levels and that funding has been received annually for the last five years...
