A commercial development is coming soon for Campbell River’s newest neighbourhood, after council gave third reading to legislation allowing it on Tuesday. The Jubilee Heights community growing at the south end of Dogwood Street has always included future plans for a commercial space, similar to the stores and services at the corner of Dogwood and Hilchey. This week council allowed the developer’s plans to increase the total commercial floor area for future tenants, and allow a car wash as a permitted use. The legislation moved forward by council also includes some housekeeping to make sure the development aligns with a nearby subdivision application. The development still needs approval from the provincial transportation ministry before council can give it final approval to go ahead.
