Pirates suffer one-goal setback at home

The Picton Pirates couldn't overcome a first-period deficit in a 2-1 loss to the Amherstview Jets on Thursday night. Amherstview scored twice in the opening period and proceeded to ride a 34-save performance from goaltender Noah Chin to victory at Huff Estates Arena. Aiden Treverton's second period shorthanded marker from Will Potts and Cole Stevenson was the only blemish on Chin's resume. Nolan Lane was almost as good, stopping 33 of 35 shots in a solid effort.
