Five hunters fined for using and possessing false deer hunting tags in Bancroft

Five people have been convicted for using false hunting tags in Bancroft. The hunters, four of them from Bancroft and one from Oshawa, were also fined a total of $24,500 for licence and tag violations resulting from an investigation into the over-harvest of white-tailed deer. The court found them guilty of using copies of their tags, killing four additional deer with the fake tags between November and December 2023.
