RETIREMENT – MAJOR MARK ANDERSON, CD – 00341, SIGS

  1. AFTER MORE THAN 23 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA, MAJOR MARK ANDERSON WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 30 APRIL 2026. 2. MAJOR ANDERSON GREW UP IN MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO, AND ENROLLED IN THE REGULAR FORCE AS AN AEROSPACE TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN (ATIS TECH). FOLLOWING SEVERAL YEARS OF TECHNICAL SERVICE WITHIN THE ROYAL CANADIAN AIR FORCE, HE WAS SELECTED FOR THE UNIVERSITY TRAINING PLAN – NON-COMMISSIONED MEMBERS (UTPNCM), THROUGH WHICH HE TRANSITIONED TO THE OFFICER CORPS. 3. UPON COMMISSIONING AND COMPLETION OF SIGNAL OFFICER TRAINING IN 2015, MAJOR ANDERSON SERVED AT THE CANADIAN FORCES SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS (CFSCE), 77 LINE REGIMENT, CANADIAN JOINT OPERATIONS COMMAND (CJOC), AND CANADIAN FORCES CYBER COMMAND (CAFCYBERCOM). THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER, HE BENEFITED FROM EXCEPTIONAL MENTORSHIP THAT CONTRIBUTED SIGNIFICANTLY TO HIS LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH. 4. MAJOR ANDERSON EXTENDS HIS SINCERE GRATITUDE TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR THEIR UNWAVERING SUPPORT THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER. 5. MAJOR ANDERSON HAS REQUESTED THAT NO FORMAL DEPARTURE WITH DIGNITY (DWD) BE HELD.
