RETIREMENT – CPL GREGORY ABBOTT – 00109, ATIS TECH

CPL GREGORY ABBOTT WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 28 JANUARY 2026 AFTER 8 YEARS OF DEDICATED, DISTINGUISHED, AND LOYAL SERVICE TO THE C&E BRANCH, THE ROYAL CANADIAN AIR FORCE, CANADA, AND THE CROWN. CPL ABBOTT JOINED THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AS A RESERVIST INFANTEER IN CORNER BROOK, NEWFOUNDLAND ON 30 MARCH 2017. HE SERVED WITH THE 2ND BATTALION ROYAL NEWFOUNDLAND REGIMENT UNTIL 02 DECEMBER 2019. HE WAS ATTACHED POSTED TO CFSCE IN KINGSTON WHERE HE TRANSFERRED TO THE REGULAR FORCE ON 22 JANUARY 2020 IN ORDER TO COMPLETE HIS TRADE TRAINING AS AN AEROSPACE TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN. UPON COMPLETION OF HIS TRADE TRAINING ON 14 OCTOBER 2021, HE WAS POSTED TO 7 COMMUNICATION GROUP HEADQUARTERS IN THE POSITION OF NATIONAL SERVICE DESK ANALYST. DURING HIS TIME WITH 7 COMMUNICATION GROUP HEADQUARTERS, HE DEVELOPED INTO ONE OF THE MOST EXPERIENCED MEMBERS IN THE GROUP, CONTRIBUTING GREATLY TO THE ORGANIZATION, AND PROVIDING GUIDANCE TO HIS FELLOW PEERS. IN THE SUMMER OF 2025 ON 28 JULY, HE ACCEPTED AN OFFER TO THE CANADIAN FORCES LANGUAGE SCHOOL FOR FRENCH LANGUAGE TRAINING.
