Exor Studios has announced that The Riftbreaker’s long-awaited 2.0 Update will launch on the 25th of August for PC, with release dates for other platforms to follow. Available for free to all existing players, the update introduces online co-op for up to four players across both the Story Campaign and Survival Mode, alongside significant gameplay expansions and optimizations. The new multiplayer mode retains all missions and features from the single-player game, adapted for team play. The Story Campaign now includes a post-game arc centered on building massive Megastructures—complex constructions requiring advanced planning and resources—which lead to a new conclusion for the game’s narrative. Additional content includes tougher “Omega-Strain” enemy variants, a randomized mission generator for greater replayability, and a reworked loot system that allows powerful gear to be found through exploration and combat. Beyond the major new features, the 2.0 Update delivers balance adjustments, a redesigned difficulty system, and a complete weapon system overhaul to broaden viable playstyles. Research progression in the Story Campaign now requires resource investments, while quality-of-life improvements such as mass item disassembly, quick multiplayer teleports, and a research search function have been added based on community feedback. The update also brings major performance enhancements, with engine reworks enabling smoother gameplay even with large bases and high enemy counts. The Riftbreaker, a blend of base-building, survival, and action-RPG mechanics, follows Captain Ashley S. Nowak and her mech-suit companion “Mr. Riggs” as they establish a foothold on the alien world of Galatea 37. The Riftbreaker is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
