Enshrouded gets its biggest update yet!

The latest content update for Keen Games’ Enshrouded is now available, offering new experiences to its three million-plus players. Titled Souls of the Frozen Frontier, this is the most extensive update to date, featuring dynamic weather, animal companions and livestock, NPC townsfolk, an increased level cap, new crafting tiers, additional weapons, outfits, and more. This update also includes a variety of new features, content additions, and fixes. In Souls of the Frozen Frontier, players can venture into the snowy peaks of the Albaneve Summits, a mountainous, winter-themed biome full of new quests, lore, creatures, and materials. The new update brings challenges in the form of dynamic traversal elements: deep snow that slows movement, updrafts for gliding, and slippery ice plains. The update also introduces dynamic weather, including temperature fluctuations, rain, and other environmental changes.  Players can craft suitable gear to adapt to the cold, impacting both gameplay and survival elements. Thanks to the support of the Enshrouded community, NPC townsfolk have returned to the game world, populating different areas and assisting players with various tasks. These characters can be invited to bases to aid in crafting, and they bring with them a variety of new clothing and gear options. Among the most requested features, Enshrouded now includes the option to tame and adopt pets and farm animals. These feathered and furry companions can provide a sense of comfort and companionship, while farm animals also periodically drop resources. Players can build a space for their animals at their base, where these creatures can settle and even start their own families. New materials, including snow, are available for base-building and allow players to personalize their in-game environments. Notably, snow used in construction will not melt in warmer areas. Finally, players can now reach level 35, unlocking new spells, skills, and other enhancements. Enshrouded entered Early Access in January 2024, with plans for a full launch on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles in 2025.
