Black-necked cranes disappearing from Khotokha?

Khotokha, Wangdue—Once a thriving winter sanctuary for black-necked cranes, Khotokha’s vast wetlands are witnessing a worrying decline in crane arrivals. Designated as a Ramsar site and spanning 126.58 hectares, the valley’s open grasslands and tranquil environment have long provided an ideal roosting and foraging ground for the endangered birds. However, where 10 to 15 cranes once graced the landscape each winter, the numbers have now dwindled, raising concerns about the future of this critical habitat.
