Anambra Police Arrest Suspect with Locally Fabricated Pistol

In a significant breakthrough, operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested a suspect in possession of a locally fabricated Beretta pistol. The arrest was made during a routine foot patrol in Upper-Iweka, Onitsha, on February 18, 2025, at approximately 8:00 PM.The suspect, identified as Orji Chigozie 'M', was found with the pistol concealed inside a bag. Preliminary investigations suggest that Chigozie may be involved in criminal activities in the area.The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Awka, for further investigation and necessary legal action. This arrest is part of the Anambra State Police Command's intensified security measures to ensure the safety and security of residents. The command urges members of the public to continue providing useful information to aid law enforcement efforts in tackling crime.
