The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has appointed Chief Yomi Badejo-Okunsanya, the immediate past President of the African Public Relations Association (APRA), as the Chairman of the Nigeria Reputation Management Group (NRMG) Board. Hajiya Lami Tumaka and Dr. Alice Ajeh were also named as 1st and 2nd Vice Chairpersons, respectively.The establishment of the NRMG Board follows the unveiling of the group on October 15, 2024, in Abuja. This initiative, spearheaded by the NIPR, seeks to address reputational challenges affecting Nigeria’s growth and development.Speaking during the virtual inauguration of the Board, NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, emphasized the importance of the nation's reputation as a vital asset for Nigeria’s engagement in the global market. He announced that Chief Badejo-Okunsanya would lead a 17-member team comprising seasoned experts, including representatives from the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, the NIPR Young Professionals Hub, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the NRMG CEO set to serve as Secretary to the Board upon appointment.The Board has been charged with working collaboratively with the NIPR Council and other stakeholders to execute critical projects, including the construction of the Nigeria Reputation House, while ensuring the promotion of initiatives aimed at enhancing the country's global image.
