Angry Youth Association of Nigeria Condemns Smear Campaign Against Dango, Passes Vote of Confidence

The Angry Youth Association of Nigeria (AYAN), a prominent pressure group of unemployed youths in the Niger Delta, has condemned the smear campaign against Matthew Dango, the Special Adviser to the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on Youth Affairs. During a press conference in Port Harcourt, led by AYAN’s National President, General Waritimi Parker, the group passed a vote of confidence on Dango, urging the NDDC MD, stakeholders, and the public to dismiss the baseless allegations intended to tarnish his reputation.General Parker highlighted Dango's significant contributions to youth development, including skills acquisition programs, educational scholarships, and entrepreneurial support. He criticized the accusers, labeling their actions as desperate attempts to undermine Dango's achievements and disrupt the NDDC's progressive vision under the leadership of Engr. Samuel Ogbuku.Comrade Soyimiegha Kevin, AYAN’s National Mobilization Officer, clarified that complaints against Dango arose from a misunderstanding during a recent Niger Delta Youth Leaders and Stakeholders Engagement. He explained that some uninvited participants, who were nevertheless accommodated, did not receive conference stipends due to their names not being included in the official budget.Soyimiegha stressed that Dango acted in good faith and that the complaints were based on false information.AYAN reaffirmed their support for Dango, commending his efforts as a dependable ambassador for the youths of the Niger Delta. The group called for continued unity and backing for Dango as he continues his work for the betterment of the region's youth.
