Nigerian Army Focuses on Adaptive Leadership, Data Management, Embraces Modern Record Keeping System for Enhanced Efficiency - COAS, General Lagbaja

 The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja has reiterates that the Nigerian Army remains adaptive, resilient, and capable of meeting the demands of a joint environment by focusing on current best practices in data management and record keeping system. General Lagbaja said this today, 3rd September 2024 while declaring open the Second Edition of the Army Headquarters Department of Military Secretary Data Management and Record Keeping Seminar 2024 with the theme, "Efficient Data Management and Record Keeping in a Digital Era: An Imperative for Sustaining a Professional Nigerian Army within a Joint Environment" which highlights NA commitment to improving these crucial practices. The Army Chief, ably represented by the Chief of Army Standards and Evaluation (Army), Maj Gen Olumuyiwa Robert Aiyenigba noted that in focusing on current best practices in data management and record keeping system this includes not only traditional military engagements but also the increasingly significant domains of cyber and media operations.According to the Army Chief the Seminar is coming at a time when Nigerian Army find himself operating in a complex environment, especially in cyber and media domains, while also engaged in numerous national operations. These challenges underscore the vital importance of efficient data management and record keeping for the effective administration of the Nigerian Army"In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, the ability to manage and secure data efficiently is not just a requirement but a cornerstone of operational success and administrative excellence. My decision to attend this opening ceremony stems from a deep conviction that effective data management and record keeping is fundamental to a successful Army. "This Seminar therefore offers a valuable opportunity for participants to gain essential knowledge and skills which are essential for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations"he saidThe COAS urged all participants to actively engage the resource persons during the interactive sessions. I wish you all fruitful deliberations."he notedIn his remarks, Military Secretary Army, Major General Folusho Oyinlola said the Seminar, was borne out of the critical necessity to streamline and enhance data management and record keeping practices within the Nigerian Army in today’s digital era. It therefore represents a significant milestone in NA collective pursuit of excellence in data management and record keeping within the Nigerian Army. Maj General Oyinlola said sound administration is one of the 3 main pillars of the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy to engender efficiency and effectiveness of the Service. This is exactly the focus of the Seminar, to imbue best practices in data management and record keeping with emphasis on proper document storage and security in a digital era, in order to foster efficiency and effectiveness of the Nigeria Army. He steessed that the effective data management and record keeping ensures the preservation of institutional data and records of vital historical value to facilitate quick decision-making and sound administration of the Nigerian Army for years to come. He opined that the knowledge that will be shared during this Seminar, will therefore be instrumental in enabling us maintain accurate records, facilitate informed decision-making, and optimise our overall effectiveness in the administration of the Nigerian Army. Papers discussed were "Digital Technology, a Veritable Tool for Efficient Data Management and Record Keeping", "Integration of Data Analytics for Efficient Manpower M Management of the NA within a Joint Environment", "Data Management and Record Keeping", "Management of Personnel Data and Record Keeping in a Joint Operations", "Data Management and Record Keeping for Effective Admin of Troops Pay and Allowances: The Role of NAFC", "Data Mgt and Record Keeping for Effective Administration of NA Personnel: HQ ICC Approach, Enhancing Data Security Measures in NA's Digital Record Keeping System, "Imperativeness Memory in Institutional Effective Data Management and Record Keeping, "Prospects of Adopting Digital Data Management Systems in a Military Environment".Participants at the Second Edition of the Army Headquarters Department of Military Secretary Data Management and Record Keeping Seminar 2024 were the Military Secretary Nigerian Navy, Military Secretary Airforce, Senior officers from the three services, officers from the Nigerian Army. www.twitter.com/spyetv
