As part of its continued efforts to support widows and the vulnerable, ADVATANN Care Foundation, in collaboration with Uplifting Power Key (UPK) Foundation, extended a helping hand to widows and vulnerable individuals in Akure. The gesture, marked by distribution of foodstuffs and medical checkup to the beneficiaries, was to cushion the harsh economic realities in the country and provide support to them for Christmas and the New Year festivals. The event marks the fourth edition of ADVATANN's charitable initiative, aimed at alleviating hardship and spreading joy during Christmas. The event also received support from other organisations, including HOWGA, a human development NGO.The founder of ADVATANN Care Foundation, Ayanfe Beloved Adeyemi, emphasised the organisation's commitment to supporting the less privileged. "Today, our foundation is giving back to the society like we always do and our focus is on providing food for widows and orphans. Also for those that are unable to work, we step in to make a difference," he said.Adeyemi advised the beneficiaries to reciprocate the act of generosity to others.“My advice to the beneficiaries is that nobody is in the position not to help, with whatever they have. In any position they find themselves, they should try to help people”, he added. Also speaking, the founder, Uplifting Power Key Foundation, (UPK), Evangelist Damilola Temidayo, explained that the programme is a yearly one, where they provide foodstuffs to widows and the less privileged to help them celebrate Christmas. “Most of them are in need. Because if they are not, they won't be here to collect these items. If they have enough, they won't be here. So, we pray that God will raise more support so that we can do it more than this and the program can grow large than this,” Temidayo stated. The convener of HOWGA, Gbega Adene praised the organisers, describing the programme is an exemplary act of service to humanity. “The whole event is a great one. Of course, we are aware that there has been a lot of happenings recently when it comes to issues of stampede. But then, when it comes to arrangements here, we are able to control that, manage that, and give the little we have to people with proper coordination and all and we look forward to supporting this initiative in the future." Adene said.Lead Director of Seed Mentors Africa, Akinsunlola Oluwafemi, commended the efforts of the foundation and the impact of the initiative.“People are really in need, and this kind of support should be regular, not just during the festive period. I encourage other privileged individuals and groups to step in and help as well”, Oluwafemi noted. The beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support received.Mrs. Falade Olajumoke from Odokoyi, Akure, appreciated the foundation’s generosity.Mrs. Salami Adeola added that the programme is a remarkable act of kindness, urging the organisers to continue the good work. Mrs. Comfort Ojo from Oke Ogba, Akure, expressed gratitude to the organisers and encouraged other beneficiaries to cherish and make good use of the support.
