Nigerian Army's Commitment to Education and Talent Development The Nigerian Army's initiative to empower students through education and literary competitions, through its Civil-Military Cooperation efforts is promoting creative thinking and literary excellence among students nationwide, which is emphasizing Gen Lagbaja's commitment to fostering academic excellence and creativity among young Nigerians.According to the statement issued by the Director Army Public Relations Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Tuesday, said the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, rewarded the winners of the inaugural COAS Literary Competition.Held as part of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration 2024 in Jos, Plateau State, the competition aimed to harness creative minds and showcase literally talents in Essay, Art and Poetry.The competition, open to primary, secondary, and tertiary students, got 381 entries nationwide, and the winners emerged in each category.They include; Bakare Isaac Ayodeyi of Lead City University (Tertiary Essay), Habila Amen of Command Secondary school Kaduna (Secondary Essay), and Adekunle Ore-Ofe Kerenhappuch of Command Children School Mokola Ibadan (Primary Essay).Also Olawale Muheez Olamilekan of Lagos State University (Tertiary Poetry), Mary Stephen Raymond of Command Secondary School Jos (Secondary Poetry), and Abubakar Abdulmalik of Command Children School Sokoto (Primary Poetry) emerged winners of the Poetry category.While in the Literary art category, Oyakhire Favour Erosereme of the University of Benin (Tertiary Art), Idajor Ronaldo Goodluck of NAOWA College Abuja (Secondary Art), and Meshack Daniels of Command Children School Bori Camp (Primary Art) emerged victorious.General Lagbaja congratulated the winners, emphasizing the competition’s purpose: to showcase Nigerian youth’s creative abilities and provide a platform for talent display. He noted that the initiative employs arts and literary works to shape thoughts and perceptions, supporting the nation’s educational sector.The COAS appreciated the organizers, assessors, and stakeholders for their commitment to the initiative, which will enhance cognitive development among Nigerian youth.www.twitter.com/spyetv
