DNB Officially Launches 5G-Advanced Network

Digital Nasional Berhad and Ericsson today officially launched 5G-Advanced network technology through DNB's network infrastructure, allowing customers to enjoy the 5G-A network on their respective devices. Through the use of this technology, it also improves the user experience by offering low latency, in addition to faster data transfer rates.In addition, the DNB network is also equipped with Ericsson's artificial intelligence support to ensure that the network always operates at high performance. 5G-Advanced is said to be able to accommodate users in stadiums without any problems, unlike existing 5G networks which often have problems accommodating many users simultaneously.At the same time, the use of the 5G-Advanced network is also said to offer greater savings on battery consumption, ensuring that devices are used for longer. In addition to consumers, this network upgrade and update is seen as targeting more industrial use.Existing 5G network users will start to see the 5G-A label on their respective devices if they are in a location with this 5G-Advanced network.It was also shared that as of December 2024, Malaysia had recorded 18.2 million 5G service subscriptions, showing a usage rate of 53.4%.
