A few months ago there were reports of employees of a company losing savings after the employer asked to borrow money via video call. Unknowingly, the employer's identity was forged using DeepFake technology and the money was transferred and has not yet been returned. At WMC Shanghai, Honor showcased its DeepFake video detection technology built right into the device. This AI Deepfake Detection feature analyzes the video displayed on the screen. Through artificial intelligence (AI) technology, it can tell users whether the person in the video is a real person or just a virtual mask of DeepFake technology. AI Deepfake Detection detects differences in light, eye position and video sharpness to detect fake videos in about three seconds. It does not require an internet connection because all AI processes are carried out directly from within the device. Also shown by Honor is AI Defocus Eye Protection which will be able to prevent the user's eyes from experiencing farsightedness due to using the device for a long period of time. This system simulates how the eye sees a blurry distant object. One of the causes of farsightedness is an elongated pupil due to too often focusing on close-up objects. According to Honor, the issue of myopia in the eyes can be reduced between 13 and 75 degrees after using AI Defocus Eye Protection for 25 minutes.
