EA, Ubisoft, Activision and Roblox Complained to EC for Allegedly Cheating Customers
The European Consumer Organization BEUC) and its 22 members have filed complaints with the European Commission (EC) and the European Network of Consumer Authorities against Epic Games, Electronic Arts,Epic Games, Electronic Arts, Roblox, Activision Blizzard, Supercell, Mojang Studios and Ubisoft for allegedly cheat customers.Among the issues raised by BEUC is that video game companies are not transparent with customers, especially children. The actual cost of digital goods in video games is not clearly shown causing many to overspend.They added that the user's right to purchase premium currency for the game was also denied. At the same time among children video games can cause addiction.BEUC called on the authorities to act and explained that even though the gaming world is virtual, it still needs to comply with real world rules.
