AMD Variable Graphics Memory Can Turn RAM into VRAM

AMD has announced a Variable Graphics Memory (VGM) feature that allows laptop owners to set the amount of RAM to use on VRAM to run video games more smoothly. According to AMD, the process of changing the RAM size is as easy as pressing a button in the AMD Adrenaline application,So a built-in graphics card that only has 4GB of VRAM can be upgraded to 12GB of VRAM to allow it to run video games at higher graphics settings. It also solves the issue of some video games not being able to run on the laptop due to not passing the memory settings of the graphics card. In Adrenaline, there are already several built-in presets. The Medium setting for example, turns 8GB of 32GB of RAM into VRAM.In AMD's shared graphics, some popular video games can record an increase of up to 33FPS when VGM and Fluid Motion Frames 2 are enabled. At this point the Variable Graphics Memory feature is only supported on laptops with AMD AI 300 “Strix Point” chips.
