The United States had the Space Shuttle and the USSR had the Buran. Both are space cargo ships that help carry supplies to the space station as well as launch satellites. To meet their mission needs, China is now starting a program to develop their own space cargo ship. Two concepts have been selected for the next phase by the China Space Engineering Office (CMSEO), namely Qingzhou by the Innovation Academy for Microsatellites of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IAMCAS) and Haolong by the Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC).The Haolong design shared by AVIC looks like a Boeing X-37B aircraft. Based on this image, Haolong is a space cargo ship that has no human crew to operate.CMSEO places a minimum requirement of carrying at least 1800 kg of cargo to bring supplies to the Tiangong space station. At the same time it can also return to land on earth after carrying out a mission.China is currently using the Tianzhou and Shenzhou spaceships to carry out missions to bring supplies to Tiangong. Space cargo ships that can carry larger payloads are needed not only for future mission needs but also to reduce costs as they can be used multiple times.
