Sideloading Android Apps Will Require a 24-Hour Waiting Period

Sideloading apps is one of the reasons why Android is the choice of users who want freedom. But last year, Google announced plans to allow sideloading because it is one of the causes of online fraud as users are tricked into installing malware. After receiving negative reactions from the majority of Android users, Google updated how sideloading will be allowed from now on.The Advanced Flow protocol allows apps to be installed by sideloading with the verification system turned off. Developer Mode must be enabled first. Then Android will ask if they have been instructed to turn off the third-party verification system. If not, the device must be restarted to end the phone call (if the user receives a phone call from a scam syndicate) and stop the device monitoring system (if the system vulnerability is used by the scammer).After the restart, a 24-hour waiting period will be imposed before sideloading can be done by allowing the installation of unverified apps like the system used now.According to Google, this waiting period allows users to think about whether they are actually the target of the scam syndicate or not and makes the scammer wait a day before they can do their nefarious activities. Users can set to allow sideloading for 7 days only or allow it all the time after Advanced Flow is activated.This security measure was necessary due to the increasing number of cases of users, especially the elderly, losing money due to malicious applications being installed via sideloading. Some see this as an extreme action by Google but in fact cases like this often occur in Malaysia until secondary security systems are introduced by manufacturers such as Samsung.
