I love the smell of new music in the morning…Especially on a Friday; when the world is overhyped with what one alt-rock/nu-metal band is up to, attention should be turned to the rest of the heavy world because Spiritbox have unleashed their new heavy-hitter ‘Soft Spine‘ and to say it’s the Friday delight you didn’t know you needed would be an understatement.Commencing with a synth lead-in, we’re soon met with Courtney LaPlante screaming “YOU ALL DESERVE EACH OTHER” as we’re then met with some familiar djent SFX and a thumping bassline. The production is (as usual) in fine form – with intertwining backing synth weaving in between Zev Rose’s drum fills and Josh Gilbert’s bass tricks as Courtney builds towards a tasty breakdown call of “YOUR GOD WILL SEE YOU WHEN YOU DIIIIIIE” – which then takes us into a manic breakdown with frantic fingering action from Mike Stringer.Leaning more into Spiritbox’s heavier side, this new single will tick a few boxes for fans and critics alike.
