Hey Everyone, First time poster but been working with R series cars for years now. This is the first time i've come across this as i'm realizing this is the first actual GT car i've worked on. Anyways, OEM cluster started to have issues, after some diagnosis found it was the board on the back of the cluster. So we sourced another and soon discovered we had no speedo. Some quick googling quickly told me why and I started to try and see if I could tackle this issue on my own..... While still retaining the ABS. So as many may know the GT is wired with speed signal from diff VR sensor to ABS Module and then to pin 19 on the cluster for input. The GTT/GTR use the speed sensor directly from the trans speed sensor to cluster and then distributes to ECU, etc. So My current pin 19 is being fed an speed input from the ABS Module but now I need the input directly from the VR sensor ( so not the assumed square wave from the ABS). I can't wire the Diff sensor directly to the speedo without messing up the ABS and it throwing a code. I tried wiring the signal to the ECU and back to the Speedo (car has a Haltech 2000, but haltech cannot recreate a VR signal on an output to my knowledge). which gives partial success cause I can get a speed into to the ECU for gear detection but still leaves me without a speedo on the cluster. I'm at a point of ordering a Dakota digital signal converter and using that to convert the pulsed output from the haltech back to a AC (VR type) signal that will properly drive the speedo..... But then i've heard of some people getting away with just using an adapter harness for the cluster? Clearly i'm missing something here to make this work, Is there a way the GTT cluster can be wired to run off the GT setup (I'm also not sure if the GT diff speedo setup is the same as an auto car either) or am I stuck using the speed signal converter and paying for the extra module? Not worried about all the other things like door lock setup and what not, just the speedo in this case. Any help greatly appreciated.
