Audio peeps, help a brother.

The front door speakers in my E90 started crackling really badly a few months back. Given they're 19 years old and that I don't mind the odd volume sesh in the car I went and bought a kit from the UK with new mids and new tweeters. These are not some crazy expensive top shelf speakers. They're about $400 and made to fit in the factory spots. This is important to me, I'm 100% over speaker install jobs and just want easy install these days. Anyway, they fit and they sound a bit better with the tweeters far more noticeable. But! They still crackle. Not even remotely as bad as before so the old speakers were at least a little bit to blame for the static but why are the new ones doing it? The head unit is an Android unit from China so more non top shelf audio there. But this head unit has been in the car for 3+ years and it never used to crackle. I have like the mid level audio in my car, I think I have 2 subs, two rear mids, an amp and the fronts. Now, one thing I just thought of as I typed this is that the head unit audio comes into the factory system via the head phone aux in. I know this will limit audio quality and it's been this way as long as it's been in the car but thought it worth mentioning. Thoughts? Amp is my next guess.
