AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Supreme Court dismissed a lawyer discipline case filed against the state’s attorney general, Ken Paxton, for his actions attempting to overturn the 2020 election. The matter is moot in light of the state high court’s ruling that Paxton’s first assistant can not “be subjected to collateral professional discipline based on alleged misstatements in initial pleadings” filed on the state’s behalf.
