Israeli and Palestinian teenagers joint efforts for peace

In the wake of the October 7 attacks, a small non-governmental organization is working with Israeli, Palestinian and American youth to prepare future leaders. In the framework of this program, 16 teenagers visited and participated in meetings with diplomatic representations and humanitarian organizations in Geneva. Participants faced difficult questions about possible dialogue on the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. Such initiatives for coexistence have encountered great difficulties, while the attacks of October 7 caused new and deep divisions. Teenagers from America and the Middle East, Christian, Jewish and Muslim, participate in the program to lead peace efforts. Although many things have changed since the October 7 attacks and Israel's military response in Gaza, they are persistently striving for a better future for Israelis and Palestinians. The “Jerusalem Peacebuilders” program, created by pastor Nicholas Porter and his wife Dorothy, has provided teenagers with visits and meetings to understand the mechanisms of global institutions and democracy. “It is extremely important that in these times of war and division in the Holy Land, there are people who are willing to cross the dividing lines,” says Pastor Porter.
