Iran Showcases Long-Range Drone at Exhibition in Russia

Iran's official news agency reported on Monday (12/8) that the country was showing off drone long-range Mohajer-10 at a defense exhibition in Russia. US officials accuse Iran of sending drone to Russia, including the Mohajer-10's predecessor, the Mohajer-6, which Moscow used in its invasion of Ukraine. Tehran denies the accusations. IRNA said the more advanced system was showcased at the Army 2024 International Military-Technical Forum, an event taking place from Monday to Wednesday (August 14) at Patriot Park outside the Russian capital. The report comes as the Middle East braces for Iran's threat of retaliation against Israel following the assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on July 31. Iran released details of the Mohajer-10 system in August last year, saying it had an increased flight range and could carry a larger payload. A video accompanying the report showed the drone alongside other military hardware, with text saying “prepare your shelters” in Hebrew and Farsi. According to Iranian media reports, the drone has an operational range of 2,000 kilometers and can fly for up to 24 hours. Its payload can reach 300 kilograms, twice the capacity of the Mohajer-6, the report said. (lt/ab)
