Donald Trump frequently cites one particular polling organization, but on Sunday it released results revealing a tight race in numerous swing states. Trump often posts Rasmussen Reports polls, which AllSides media bias rating shows as "lean right," on his Truth Social account, and they usually show the former president with a devastating lead over Vice President Kamala Harris. Earlier this month, critics were surprised by a Rasmussen poll showing Trump with only a five-point lead in a review of the national vote. On Sunday, however, a survey released by the MAGA-friendly polling group showed that Trump is struggling in swing states, too. According to the poll, Trump is winning Arizona and Pennsylvania by only one point. The same poll actually showed Harris with a one-point lead in Michigan. Conservative Army Iraq War Veteran Peter Henlein said it was the "the worst poll for Trump" he had seen in this cycle."Because it is Rasmussen, which acts more like a MAGA influencer than a professional polling firm," Henlein said. "And they have him up only 1 in AZ and PA, and down 1 MI. From anyone else this is a whatever poll, but not from Rasmussen."Attorney and cable news legal analyst Jeffrey Evan Gold said, "Add 5 points to any Democrat."Norman Ornstein — who is an emeritus scholar at the Koch-funded American Enterprise Institute — also chimed in:"Rasmussen is to polls what Trump is to truth," he said Sunday.Michael McDonald, a professor at the University of Florida who specializes in American elections, simply wrote, "Lol. Rasumussen."Sean Colarossi, formerly of PoliticusUSA, said, "Kind of great results for her — winning PA and MI in the full field — given the pollster."
