Kosovo, the challenges in alleviating the poverty rate

In Kosovo, the law on the social assistance scheme does not allow employed persons to receive assistance from the state, regardless of whether they are classified as poor. Such an approach has been criticized by institutions such as the World Bank, while the authorities say that the social assistance system is in the process of being reformed.
